Mediterranean Tea Room in Columbia

Had the grilled Salmon special for lunch with yellow rice and salad. Cook just a little longer then needed, but the seasoning and flavor made up for it. Super good and great for the price. Will go back again..

This is a cozy restaurant with good vegetarian choices. The food was tasty but price was a bit high.

Great mediterranean food on Devine Street.—Food:We had two orders: Kofta kabob (three patties of kabob, rice, hummus, pita bread) and kofta medallion ( two patties of kabob, greek salad, rice). We like the kabobs with the greek salad more than the other. The kabobs Patties were delicious but I like kabobs in skewer more. The salad was really good. Also, the pita bread was different here, it seemed like it was hand-made. I super liked that.—Inside the restaurant:You can just go in and seat anywhere. The restaurant is not a very big place but there is a lot of crowd. You will find a festive feeling inside. The waiters are friendly and they are quick to serve your order.--Parking:Parking the car might be an issue. there is not enough parking space in front of the restaurant. You might have to park by the curb.Thanks!

Great fresh food, great service, huge portions at very reasonable prices! You gotta eat here while you are visiting Columbia. We went for wife's birthday. The food was great and Lyn did a fabulous job taking care of us.

My first time here was not a good experience. The food was a delight. However I wasn’t satisfied with the service. First off my friend called ahead of time asking if they had gluten free meals. She was told that they did. The waiter seemed very impatient she didn’t explain the menu. Never once said anything was an extra fee. Never came to fill up our drinks or bought the food out. Then she was asked question that she seem frustrated that she was being asked about gluten free stuff and her comment was “I don’t Know much about how they cook stuff back there” The results were my friend started having a gluten attack. It took her a long time to come back to the tables with the check and had the nerve to take 20% gratuity off each check like worked hard for it. I was very disappointed about the services. I will not recommend this place again my friend could have been sent to the hospital. Very unprofessional.

Parking is an issue, but the food is great!

Love this place, so cozy and delish! I've been here several times and have never been dissapointed. Neither have any of my friends been disappointed. Last week I got a falafel platter, super crispy, well done falafel, with hummus and pita bread on the side. I also got a side of rice (yellow pilaf) and baba ganoush, just coz I love em both there. My friend got the spaghetti meat balls which was on their specials that day, and he absolutely loved it. It was pricy but I was told it was worth every penny. Look out for pics!

I had the Greek salad with grilled chicken and it was DELICIOUS. Service was fast and friendly. Definitely will be going back. Great spot for lunch. Parking is a bit of a challenge.

Love it! Especially the salmon, pita bread, hummus and Tzatziki! Even the sweet tea was fabulous. Excellent service made it all the more enjoyable. Went for a birthday dinner, but you don't need a special reason to go, other than for the food! The atmosphere will lend itself to any occasion.

Thee Best Mediterranean food!I am from Chicago where there are tons of quality ethnic restaurants. Mediterranean Tea Room ranks with Chicago! The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. They really have it together with safety precautions for COVID! The menu is so varied,I had a tough time deciding. The portions are very bountiful. It was sooo good, I might go back tomorrow! This place always hits the spot. I normally get the gyro with a Greek salad and it’s always good. The meat they use isn’t like the norm for gyros. It’s a patty of beef and lamb ground together. I actually like it better. The lunch experience is great; they’ll get you in and out. The staff is always friendly.

Going to start off this review by talking about another restaurant right down the street from MTR. They also serve similar dishes, but the difference between MTR and this other restaurant is the service. At MTR our food comes out fresh, and hot. And doesn't sit in the window for an hour and a half. Also the waiters are so polite and friendly. I'll be coming to Mediterranean Tea Room from now on. Thanks for the best lamb Gyro in town!

Great spot for lunch. Delicious lunch specials that change every day. Taditional mediterranean food with a focus on Greek. Very affordable and excellent service. Take away available too. The dining room is busy and loud, so don't expect to have an I timate lunch meeting.

This a gem of good food. We tried a couple of dishes and hummus. Everything was tasty and fresh. The portions are large and we had enough left for another meal. The walnut baklava was good too. I will definitely eat here again.

The Salmon Special is my favorite! And, I don't know where they get their feta cheese from but it is the best that I have ever tasted! My favorite Mediterranean style food is here.

I have been going to Tea To for years. I have never been disappointed. Greek salad with chicken is my favorite Atmosphere is friendly.

Not only is the food consistently delicious, but they are taking the health and safety of their customers and their staff very seriously during this pandemic. They are only doing to go at the moment, so call ahead and be patient. When you get there, there is one door to use to enter and one door to use to exit. They have it set up so there is distance at the checkout counter and a jar of sanitized pens and a jar for you to put your dirty pen (if you use a credit card). And guests are encouraged to stand six feet apart when waiting in line. They will go through your order and what is in your bags while you check out, which I love. Nothing worse than getting home and finding something missing. Give them some love and tip them heartily for keeping us fed during all this!

My favorite restaurant in Columbia. If you like Mediterranean food then look no further. Amazing place and easy on the bank. Everything is good and I’ve tried it all. Falafel plate is always a good veggie option. Their special is always good. Can’t go wrong with any of the Kofta dishes and the side Greek salad is more food than necessary. It’s all good. In the end the “Turkish” coffee is my families favorite.

Good food but not overly comfortable and quite hectic

My favorite food is Greek salad, yellow rice and chicken breast. The chucks of tomato are huge but I cut the salad into really small pieces and it’s so delicious. Absolutely yummy and fresh.

parking is hard to come by there, but the short walk if you park a block or so please away is well worth it. The service was great, and the food was excellent. It is a bit noisy, so if you are looking for a nice, quiet dinner, this is not the place.

Firts time visiting town , after working out with my husband , went to eat here and food was delicious and great customer service .

Great place for lunch. The 6 ounce chicken breast is my go to. Lots of flavor with the salad and rice. A whole lotta food for the deal. Fast and friendly service. Parking can be an issue.

I am EXTREMELY fussy about restaurant food because I cook large meals, 3 times a day... all fresh produce and meat. What is typically served in restaurants tastes like prepackaged garbage in my opinion. I ate at this restaurant for the first time last night. I cannot believe I have lived in Columbia for 12 years, driven by this restaurant hundreds of times and never been there. The service was fantastic, the food was some of the best restaurant food I have ever eaten and I will be going back, taking everyone I know and telling anyone who will listen about it. The salad was incredibly fresh and soooo delicious. I had the chicken which was very good but the salmon my friend ordered was fantastic!!! The place isn't fancy but I found it quaint and cozy.

Anything they do with salmon is the absolute best in town. Also, the hummus is easily the most authentic around, unless you're making it at home. Not to be out done, the staff is friendly, they remember things you like, and they really hustle.

My nephew turned me on to Mediterranean Tea Room. The food is delicious, presentation beautiful, and price is very reasonable for the amount of food you get. I am definitely hooked.

The service and food were both good. We had the buffalo mozzarella appetizer; salmon; and mujidarah. I only wish they had a cardamom tea.

Just ok. Usually very busy and seem understaffed a lot. Service could be better but waitstaff is running around just trying to keep their heads above water. Food is good, but nothing special.

The food is so incredibly fresh and delicious. I had the lunch special, grilled salmon with saffron rice and Greek salad. Oh. My. Gosh. So fresh. Grilled on a real grill. Put this place on your must-experience list!
